Those who know Bendarroch School recognise the school's unique ethos - a quality that is clearly there but is difficult to embrace in a few words. The School exists to serve the needs of each child individually. It begins from the precept that every child has a right to be happy and to be safe at school. It recognises that each child is different from every other child, develops at his or her own pace, has his or her own strengths and own weaknesses. There is no such person as the standardised child.

After almost thirty years of ownership, Gail and Nigel Home have sold Bendarroch School to the parents of children at the school who are pledged to maintain the school's unique ethos.
To this end, Nigel Home will, for the time-being, remain as headmaster with the same teaching staff. In time a new head will be appointed and Nigel Home will remain as a teacher for a further few years.
The new owners will assume responsibility at the end of the summer term when they plan considerable investment in the school preparatory to taking the school on to Year 11 (15-16 year olds)
